He holds the hand of the Young Boy, looking back at his babyhood and wearing his school cap. The Teenager, in a hurry to start his life, wears a baseball cap backwards. The Student, wondering what his future holds, wears a mortar board. The Business Man, looking very important and successful is in a bowler hat. The Retired Man in his comfortable home clothes wears a homberg hat and is looking down at his future, which is an Old Man in his cloth cap, holding his painful back, wondering what is to come! The curved base is shaped to show life moving forward and then tailing off towards old age with the figures are all linked together as they move through life. The paternation goes from pale to dark bronze as they progress.
